Job summary

The World Equestrian Center is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to oversee engineering personnel and assist with preventative maintenance across the property, including hotel, restaurants, and grounds. You will start each shift with turnover and task assignment and report to the Chief Engineer.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of hotel maintenance experience, EPA certification, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; EPA certification.
• Knowledge of Building Management System (BMS) and housekeeping/maintenance software.
• Experience in hotel property maintenance and supervision preferred.
• Strong English communication skills; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering staff and support daily maintenance operations.
• Assist Chief Engineer in managing activities across hotel, restaurants, and grounds.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly checklists and maintain logs.
• Conduct property walkthroughs and report urgent issues to leadership.
• Perform preventive maintenance work orders and monitor equipment.
• Maintain HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and related components.
• Replace filters, belts, and parts as needed.
• Troubleshoot locks, TVs, phones, and lighting systems.
• Demonstrate flexibility with hours and safety-focused work practices.

Job description

The Engineering Supervisoris responsible foroverseeing engineering personnel andassistingwith preventative maintenance and repair operations throughout the World Equestrian Center. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer or designated Supervisor, this role begins each shift with turnover communication and task assignment. The Engineering Supervisor plays a key role inmaintainingthe property’s infrastructure and ensuring a safe, efficient, and guest-ready environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise engineering staff and support daily maintenance operations.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in managing engineering and maintenance activities across hotel property, restaurants, and grounds.
• Support hotel engineering maintenance programs and complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists.
• Conduct property walkthroughs, update logs, and report urgent issues to the Director of Engineering or Chief Engineer; initiate repairs as needed.
• Perform preventativemaintenancework orders andmonitorengineering equipment.
• Maintain guest rooms and HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, water pumps, exhaust fans, and related components.
• Replace filters, belts, bearings, fans, insulation, and drain pans as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair locks, televisions, phones, and lighting systems.
• Demonstrate comfort with manual handling and flexibility with work hours.
• Complete otherduties asassigned by leadership.

Qualifications, Education, Experience,Skillsand Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent preferredwith Valid EPA Certificate.
• Computer literate and knowledge of (BMS) Building Management System
• Minimum of 5+ years of maintenance engineering experience in hotel properties
• Excellent level of spoken and written English
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Ability to prioritize when faced with multiple projects simultaneously
• General understanding of HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry concepts
• Certification in above trades, completion of seminar for specialized training such as Fire Safety Director, FDNYCOF’sfor Sprinkler & Standpipe, back-up generator preferred
• Knowledge of HOTSOS preferred
• Ability to work inahigh-pacedenvironment.
• Strong ability toMultitask.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid EPA Certificationrequired.
• Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance engineering experience in hotel properties.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize multiple projects.
• General understanding of HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
• Certifications in relevant trades and specialized training (e.g., Fire Safety Director, FDNY Certificates of Fitness for Sprinkler & Standpipe, backup generator) preferred.
• Familiarity with HOTSOS or similar maintenance tracking systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
