Job summary

Hilton Tempo Nashville seeks an Engineering Supervisor to lead daily maintenance and engineering operations across a 306-room hotel with extensive meeting space. You will support the engineering team, ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed, and respond to repairs to keep facilities safe and fully operational for guests and staff.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of hotel engineering experience, strong knowledge of building systems, and a track record supervising maintenance staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades preferred.
  • EPA, CPO, or HVAC certifications a plus.
  • Experience 2–4 years in hotel, resort, or commercial building maintenance/engineering.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong background in building systems, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily supervision of the engineering and maintenance team.
  • Assign, monitor, and inspect work orders to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to guestroom and public area maintenance requests.
  • Conduct routine property inspections and identify safety concerns.
  • Support inventory management of tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
  • Assist in coordinating contracted services, inspections, and vendor repairs.
  • Ensure all engineering areas remain clean, safe, and organized.
  • Maintain PM logs, work orders, compliance documents, and safety inspections.
  • Support safety programs and OSHA/fire life safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff.
  • Assist with training new engineering team members.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades preferred.
  • EPA, CPO, or HVAC certifications a plus.
  • Experience Minimum 2-4 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial building.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong background in building systems, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
  • Ability to lead and train maintenance staff.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, fire/life safety codes, and building compliance requirements.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with CMMS/work order systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
