Job summary

Iowa State University - College of Design’s Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering in Ames seeks a Student Services Specialist II to support CHE and BME undergraduate advising, degree planning, and accreditation processes.

You will coordinate the first-year CHE learning community, supervise peer mentors, and connect students with academic services, financial aid, career resources, and study abroad as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience.
• Experience coordinating student programs, such as learning communities.
• Experience with Workday Student.
• Experience advising postsecondary or high school students.
• Experience organizing data and preparing charts in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support CHE and BME undergraduate student advising for orientation, registration, and graduation.
• Coordinate the first-year CHE student learning community, including supervising peer mentors.
• Support CHE program accreditation and continuous improvement processes.
• Advise CHE and BME undergraduate students regarding degree planning, graduation requirements, and academic policies.
• Refer CHE and BME students to resources for academic success, counseling, financial aid, career services, and study abroad.
