Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Engineering Specialist to join our culture of results and innovation. You will be part of a dynamic team that supports installation, start-up, and commissioning of building automation projects.

This role requires basic engineering knowledge, programming aptitude, and a hands-on mechanical/electrical skill set, with travel to job sites and a valid driver's license. Convergint values growth, integrity, and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles related to building automation.

• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude with hand/power tools.
• Frequent visits to job sites and travel to remote towns; valid driver's license required.
• Proficient with MS Office; basic networking/IT skills related to building automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up and checkout of projects.
• Ensure work aligns with established quality standards.
• Serve as technical contact to maximize customer satisfaction with BAS.
• Help ensure projects meet budgets and schedules.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Responsible for the application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects including small to medium projects that are less complex.
• Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards.
• This role is the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Building Automation Systems.
• Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems.
• Basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Frequent visits to jobsites are required, including travel to remote towns/villages. Valid driver’s license required.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); basic networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).

Requirements

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• Previous experience with Building Automation System and Fire Alarm
