Job summary

Convergint is seeking an Engineering Specialist in Anchorage to join a dynamic team focused on growth and delivering world-class service. You will support application engineering, programming, startup and project checkout across BAS installations.

The role requires knowledge of building automation, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to travel to remote sites as needed. A valid driver’s license, MS Office proficiency, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
• Building Automation System and Fire Alarm experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles related to BAS.
• Proficient MS Office and basic networking/ IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead application engineering, programming, start-up and check-out of projects.
• Ensure work aligns with established quality standards.
• Serve as technical support for customers to maximize BAS satisfaction.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

• Responsible for the application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects including small to medium projects that are less complex.
• Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards.
• This role is the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Building Automation Systems.
• Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems.
• Basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Frequent visits to jobsites are required, including travel to remote towns/villages. Valid driver’s license required.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); basic networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).

Associates or better in Electronics Technology.

Bachelors or better in Engineering.
