Job summary

Convergint Technologies, LLC is seeking an Application Support Specialist to join our team. This full-time role focuses on application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, and startup of installed projects across fire, security, and building automation systems.

You will be a technical point of contact for customers, ensuring high satisfaction and on-time, on-budget project delivery. Strong problem-solving and MS Office skills are expected.

Qualifications

• College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
• Experience in building automation or life-safety systems is a plus.
• Strong customer-service orientation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of installed projects.
• Serve as the technical support contact for customers to maximize satisfaction with Fire, Security, and Building Automation Systems.
• Ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Perform other duties as required.

What you’ll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

• Responsible for the application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects including small to medium projects that are less complex.
• Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards.
• This role is the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation Systems.
• Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Frequent visits to jobsites are required. Minimal overnight travel is required. Valid driver's license required.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); basic networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• 1-3 years low-voltage systems project
• Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
