Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Engineering Specialist to join our growth-focused culture. You will support application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and checkout of installed projects of varying complexity, while maintaining quality standards.

The role requires frequent site visits, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with MS Office and IT basics. You will contribute to delivering world-class service within budget and schedule, and grow with a values-driven team.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems.
• Basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude with hand/power tools (drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Frequent visits to jobsites; valid driver’s license required.
• Proficient MS Office applications; basic networking/ IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects including small to medium projects that are less complex.
• Work shall be in accordance with established quality standards.
• Technical support contact for our customer; maximize customer satisfaction with installed Building Automation Systems.
• Ensure projects are executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards.
• This role is the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Building Automation Systems.
• Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems.
• Basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Frequent visits to jobsites are required, including travel to remote towns/villages . Valid driver’s license required.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); basic networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• Previous experience with Building Automation System and Fire Alarm
