Job summary

The University of Arizona is seeking an Associate Director, Engineering Research Administration Services on the Tucson Campus. This role leads comprehensive pre-award services for engineering research proposals, overseeing the entire grant application process and coordinating with PIs and sponsors to secure funding commitments.

Responsibilities include RFP interpretation, internal approvals, budget development, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning required.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience, including 2 years of managerial experience.
• Experience in pre-award proposal development and grant administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pre-award proposal development process with PI teams and sponsors.
• Read and interpret RFPs; ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional guidelines.
• Oversee pre-award workload distribution and pipeline management during peak deadlines.
• Guide subaward budgeting and coordination with collaborating entities.
• Review award documents for terms, conditions, and compliance; streamline submissions.
• Supervise at least two full-time staff and provide coaching and training.
