Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria, IL is seeking an Engineering Project Team Lead (machine development) to guide a multi-disciplinary test engineering team at the Peoria Proving Ground.

You will drive validation across machine, system, and component levels while partnering with Product Groups and Validation teams. This role emphasizes technical leadership, process ownership, and strategy execution, with travel up to 10% and a strong focus on Lean principles, data analysis, and hands-on machine

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Agricultural Engineering or related fields.
• Strong analytical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Experience with validation, testing and machine development in an engineering context.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships across Product Groups, Process Partners, and Validation teams to ensure Validation is a key partner in development.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of test engineers.
• Develop and maintain validation strategies and activity plans with system and global teams.
• Track program health, risks, and progress; communicate updates clearly.
• Lead hands-on machine testing from a customer perspective; drive process improvements.
