Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Engineering Project Team Lead (machine development) to guide a multidisciplinary team at the Peoria Proving Ground in Washington, IL. The role focuses on leading validation across machine, system, and component levels with hands-on testing and program planning.

You will drive technical leadership, process improvements, and collaborative problem solving to advance Caterpillar’s articulated truck platforms and NP I lifecycle readiness.

Qualifications

• Mention of a bachelor-level engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Agricultural fields.
• Strong analytical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience applying Lean and continuous improvement in projects.

Responsibilities

• Build Relationships between Product Groups, Partners, and Validation teams.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to a test engineering team.
• Maintain and improve standard test procedures for quality.
• Develop validation strategies with system and global teams.
• Track program health, risks, and progress.
• Hands-on validation activities from a customer perspective.
• Lead process improvements and related projects.
