Job summary

General Atomics is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to guide complex defense-related programs within the Science & Technology Products directorate. You will decompose the scope into WBS/IMS, develop schedules, and monitor performance, cost, and risk while coordinating across engineering, finance, and program management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, with 5+ years of related experience.
• Understanding of project management processes, planning/scheduling, and budget management.
• Earned Value Management (EVM) / Control Account Management experience required.
• Ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects; analyze data and develop solutions.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Decompose SOW into WBS and IMS with project team.
• Build project schedules using MS Project in consultation with engineering.
• Monitor and manage schedule, timelines, and milestones to meet delivery goals.
• Gather and provide project status to key stakeholders.
• Estimate remaining effort and cost; update EAC.
• Perform EVM analysis to identify root causes of cost/schedule variances.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver products or upgrades.
• Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and preliminary schedules for new business.
• Create and maintain Baseline Change Proposals (BCPs).
• Manage large data sets in Excel for program challenges.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and safety/environmental regs.
