Job summary

The City of Salem Public Works is seeking civil engineers at three levels—Engineering Program Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Project Manager—based on experience and certification. The role focuses on water treatment, distribution, wastewater, and stormwater systems in a collaborative, community-wide setting.

Responsibilities include leading design and construction, supervising staff, and ensuring QA/QC and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Civil Engineer License required within one year of appointment.
• Twelve years of experience in civil engineering or related field.
• Possess valid Oregon driver's license and pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects through planning, design, and construction phases.
• Supervise engineering staff and interns; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Manage program budgets, regulatory permits, and QA/QC processes.
