Job summary

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required by federal contract.
• BS in Engineering or Project Management or equivalent job experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing government projects in a project/contract-based business preferred.
• Experience in managing research and development projects in engineered products preferred.
• Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards and specifications
• Ability to read & interpret purchase orders, terms and conditions, and customer specifications
• Expected travel is up to 10% yearly
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project and the Internet
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented and highly motivated
• Possess high level of personal initiative
• Able to facilitate geographically distributed and cross functional project teams

Responsibilities

• Be the primary point of contact with the customer and ensure customer satisfaction after contract award.
• Define the scope of supply for awarded contracts and establish milestones with the Engineering Manager or Principal Engineer.
• Understand status of contracts through engineering, job creation, procurement, manufacturing, testing and shipping stages.
• Interface with Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Sales, Test, and Engineering.
• Negotiate changes to contract including terms, submittals, delivery expectations, and pricing.
• Execute communications plan and document delays, changes in scope and incidents impacting schedule.
• Prepare monthly revenue forecast with the Design Value Stream Manager.
• Communicate task schedules to project teams and secure resources when needed.
• Forecast potential problems and coordinate meetings to keep activity on track.
• Manage multiple projects with formal planning techniques and maintain contract files.
• Produce regular status reports on cost, delivery, submittals, milestones and risk.
• Coordinate packaging and shipping per contract requirements and ensure payments/invoices are timely.
• Create Health of Contract Report to monitor budget and schedule and maintain Issues List.
• Develop post-shipment reviews and share improvement ideas for future contracts.
• Assist in developing department plans, goals, policies and procedures.
