Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage’s Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility seeks an Engineering Technician I to support field operations and permitting. You will coordinate inspections, locates, and service orders, and assist in plan reviews for utility projects.

Must have a high school diploma and relevant experience or an associate degree in Engineering/CAD with related technician-level work. Remote work opportunities may follow probation, per management approval.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3+ years in drafting, surveying, inspection, or related fields.
• Associate’s degree in Engineering, CAD, or related discipline with at least 1 year at Engineering Technician I level.

Responsibilities

• Respond to field requests for water/wastewater services and inspections.
• Schedule and coordinate field investigations, permits, and 811 locates promptly.
• Review engineered plans to support permits and utility services issuance.
• Assist with customer communications and data records accuracy.
