Job summary

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a People Partner (HRBP) to join the People Operations team in NYC. You will partner with engineering leaders to design and execute talent solutions that drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement, acting as both strategic advisor and hands‑on problem‑solver.

The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen and EQ, with experience supporting engineering teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

8+ years of progressive HR experience supporting engineering or technically focused teams.
Deep understanding of software engineering dynamics and high‑performing environments.
Proven ability to coach analytical leaders through organizational challenges.
Strong business acumen with ability to anticipate talent needs alongside technical strategy.

Responsibilities

Coach managers and employees through performance, conflict resolution, and career development.
Partner with technical leads to assess team health and optimize organizational structures.
Lead workforce planning, anticipate gaps, and plan for succession and growth.
Elevate feedback quality and guide performance evaluations in a technical org.
Design tailored talent solutions for software engineers, including mentorship and development.
Collaborate with People Operations to implement initiatives and improve processes.
Coordinate offsites and leadership retreats to connect strategy with team engagement.
Monitor morale and dynamics to foster an inclusive, high‑energy environment.
