Job summary

OnBuy is seeking a senior Engineering & Operations Lead to own delivery and evolution of the engineering function across the current platform and its composable transformation. You will balance live operations with platform evolution, leading squads, setting clear ownership, and driving accountability.

You will partner with Transformation and Solution Architecture Leads to shape standards, ensure secure coding practices, operational resilience, and scalable design while maintaining

Qualifications

• Strong full-stack background with Laravel/PHP.
• Proven experience leading an engineering transformation while keeping live platform running.
• Strong API design and system architecture experience.
• Production experience with MySQL, Couchbase or MongoDB, and Redis.
• GCP: deploying and operating live services at scale.
• Startup or scale-up experience, comfortable with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Define ownership boundaries across the engineering team by domain (Buyer/Seller/Platform), ensuring accountability across sourcing models.
• Transform delivery continuity during disruption from the transformation, including onboarding and headcount changes.
• Own engineering standard across current and target architectures; review roadmaps for impact.
• Lead and develop engineering capability across squads including DevOps and platform functions.
• Establish blameless post-incident reviews and drive resilient incident ownership.
• Embed secure coding practices and surface risk in business terms for decisions.
