Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Platform Engineering Manager to lead and grow a high-performing platform engineering organisation in a dynamic environment. This role is fully remote, permanent, and offers the chance to shape the platform foundations that enable engineering teams to deliver at scale.

You will oversee shared platform capabilities, infrastructure, developer experience, reliability, observability, and enablement, partnering with senior technical leaders.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or related teams.
• Proven people leadership including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Strong cloud-native practices: automation, CI/CD, observability, reliability.
• Experience building and scaling engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, security, and leadership.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow the Platform Engineering team, including hiring and career development.
• Deliver and improve shared platform capabilities, tooling, and engineering enablement.
• Drive platform reliability, scalability, security, and operations excellence.
• Partner with technical leaders to align priorities and remove blockers.
• Develop organisational capacity and ways of working to enable high-performing teams.
