Job summary

Infleqtion, Inc. seeks a Director of Engineering Operations for the Quantum Sensing Solutions group.

This leader will own the engineering operating system and lifecycle governance from concept through manufacturing, enabling multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex quantum technologies with rigor and efficiency. The role requires broad engineering leadership, experience building operating systems for hardware/firmware development, and the ability to apply lightweight controls to exploratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, computer science or related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of engineering leadership experience in complex product development environments.
• Experience defining and governing major technical reviews, lifecycle gates, and release-readiness decisions.
• Strong working knowledge of quality-management systems (AS9100, ISO 9001 or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Own the QSS engineering lifecycle from concept to manufacturing transition with defined phases and accountability.
• Define and enforce mandatory engineering processes scalable across programs and disciplines.
• Lead technical gate reviews, evidence packages, and exit criteria for major milestones.
• Direct Quality, Configuration Management, Document Control, and Laboratory Operations for practical, compliant execution.
• Oversee engineering tools, digital workflows, and knowledge-management systems for consistency.
• Lead laboratories and equipment strategy to align with program needs and safety standards.
• Establish and govern engineering-release criteria in collaboration with cross-functional leadership.
• Build and develop a scalable Engineering Operations organization with a culture of rigor and service.
• Drive organizational leadership to scale practices across sites and future enterprise applications.
