Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team across Platforms Infrastructure Engineering. You will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and mentor engineers, while guiding cross-team collaboration and large-scale deployment across sites.

You will oversee security-focused engineering, firmware signing, attestation, and confidential compute, shaping the future of storage subsystems and distributed infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 3 years building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, compute/storage/ hardware architecture.
• 3 years in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years in people management / team leadership.
• Experience with operating systems, security, storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the mid-term technical roadmap for Platforms Infrastructure Engineering. Align priorities with goals and data center technology evaluations.
• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers. Set expectations, conduct 1:1s, and manage budget and resourcing.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle from architecture to fleet-wide rollout with high standards for quality, security, and testability.
• Oversee system design and implementation for security features including firmware signing, attestation, confidential compute, and key management.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external standards bodies to align designs and coordinate releases.
