Job summary

Google Seattle is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Storage Intelligence Platform to drive complex distributed systems at scale. You will guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery of high-impact storage and data infrastructure projects across multiple teams.

The role emphasizes ownership of outcomes, collaboration with cross-functional partners, and contributions to Google’s broad tech stack including data storage, AI/ML, and large-scale compute platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required
• 8 years of experience programming in C++
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or related compute/storage hardware architecture
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
