Job summary

Crusoe builds cloud infrastructure for AI workloads and is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Platform team. This role owns time series and log storage and the query layer that powers dashboards and investigations.

You will manage 4–6 engineers, guide delivery, and shape the platform’s end-to-end reliability and scalability. You’ll partner with Staff engineers to set direction, own tradeoffs between latency, retention, and cost, and ensure strong collaboration with adjacent teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in backend or distributed systems.
• 2+ years managing software engineers directly.
• Experience coaching senior and staff-level engineers.
• Track record of shipping multi-phase projects against fixed deadlines.
• Operational judgment to keep an essential system trustworthy.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Grow and develop the team, managing 4–6 engineers with 1:1s and career growth.
• Own storage and query layers, including load behavior and cost.
• Plan and sequence work across a roadmap blending customer features with infra.
• Set technical direction with Staff engineers and drive sound tradeoffs.
• Maintain high operational bar: availability, performance, correctness.
• Own on-call rotation and cost/scale decisions for telemetry storage.
