Job summary

Commure is hiring an Engineering Manager for the Revenue Cycle Management team to lead an engineering group that builds software ensuring accurate payments and money in the books. You will manage the full payments surface, from insurer payment files to reconciled bank deposits and patient balances, partnering with teams handling claims, denials, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing software engineers (hiring, performance, career growth).
• Experience leading backend-heavy systems on financial/payments domains.
• Track record shipping and operating financial, payments systems in production.
• Strong technical judgment on large databases, long-running pipelines, and complex business rules.
• Experience partnering with operations or customer-facing teams when correctness matters.
• Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable owning incidents and summarizing them for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of ~6 engineers across payment file processing, matching, ledger recording, bank reconciliation, patient balances/collections, and integration with financial reporting.
• Hire 2 engineers as an immediate priority; coach, retain, and grow the team through performance reviews, career development, and on-call culture.
• Balance shipping new work with reliability—roadmap delivery without burning people out or risking incorrect balances.
• Grow senior engineers who can deeply own areas (matching, posting, bank recon, patient billing) while the team stays one unit.
• Set direction for the full path: payment file to match to claim to record on books to adjust to verify in bank to patient balance to reports.
• Align with neighboring teams (claims submission, denials, financial reporting, patient product, operations) for clear handoffs.
• Invest in visibility and operability: dashboards and runbooks to track a payment from file to patient balance to reports.
• Guide changes to large databases and long-running jobs with rollout/rollback plans.
