Job summary

Commure is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager for its Revenue Cycle Management team to lead the engineering effort behind the money-in path—from insurer payments to ledger posting and patient balances. You’ll own hiring, coaching, and delivery while guiding technical direction on complex financial workflows.

You’ll work with claims, denials, and financial reporting colleagues to ensure accurate, auditable, and scalable systems that handle large volumes and deliver trustworthy dashboards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing software engineers (hiring, performance, career growth), with experience leading a team of roughly 5-8+ engineers on backend-heavy systems.
• Track record shipping and operating financial, payments, billing, reconciliation, accounting, or collections systems in production.
• Strong technical judgment on large databases, background pipelines, and complex business rules.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of ~6 engineers across payment file processing, matching, ledger recording, bank reconciliation, patient balances/collections, and integration with financial reporting.
• Hire 2 engineers as an immediate priority; coach, retain, and grow the team through performance reviews, career development, and on-call culture.
• Balance shipping new work with reliability of money systems; ensure roadmap delivery without burnout or incorrect balances.
• Grow senior engineers who can own areas like matching, posting, bank reconciliation, and patient billing.
• Set direction for the full path from payment file to reports, invest in accuracy, reliability, and trust.
• Represent the team with product, operations, and leadership; communicate tradeoffs clearly.
• Own quarterly planning and goals; break large initiatives into small, shippable steps; reduce repetitive support work.
