iMPact Business Group in the Grand Rapids metropolitan area is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead new product development, engineering operations, and product launches in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will oversee engineering teams, drive development initiatives, and ensure smooth transitions from concept through production launch.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of engineering experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading new product development (NPD), new product introduction (NPI), and production launches.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, automation, and production equipment.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers for new product development, manufacturing engineering, and product launches.
• Oversee the complete product development lifecycle from concept through validation, launch, and production ramp-up.
• Manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams to ensure successful product introductions.
• Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and process optimization initiatives.
• Oversee tooling, equipment, automation, and manufacturing process development to support high-volume production.
• Lead engineering problem-solving and corrective actions during product launches.
• Establish engineering KPIs and monitor project performance, manufacturing efficiency, and launch readiness.
• Identify opportunities to improve product quality, reduce costs, and increase production capacity.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management for engineering personnel.
