Job summary

Voyager Technologies, Inc. seeks an Engineering Manager/Mechanical Engineer V to lead a ~25-engineer team and oversee the mechanical design of complex rocket motor systems. This role combines management with hands-on program responsibilities in a fast‑paced defense environment.

You will partner with chief engineers, systems engineering, and program managers to deliver technically rigorous solutions while driving continuous improvement and staff development.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance (US Citizenship required).
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university.
• Ten to Fifteen years of mechanical or aerospace systems engineering experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience managing a high performing aerospace technical team of 10+ engineers.
• Ability to travel ~10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Reno Engineering team to visitors and act as ambassador for Voyager Defense Segment Reno Site.
• Monitor morale and motivation; communicate objectives and share information with the team.
• Collaborate with program management and senior leadership to align staffing with program needs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering

Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
