Accelera in Seattle is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a mechanical engineering group focused on material handling and capital equipment. You will guide design and delivery of complex industrial systems while mentoring engineers and collaborating with Manufacturing, Controls, Sales, Operations, and Projects.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of professional experience in the design of capital equipment, industrial machinery, or material handling systems.
• Demonstrated success in managing or leading mechanical engineering personnel.
• Extensive background in mechanical design specifically for heavy industrial sectors.
• Skilled in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent platforms.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and cultivate a high-performing team of mechanical engineers specializing in material handling and capital equipment.
• Provide expert technical guidance and design supervision to elevate the quality of engineering across all active projects.
• Manage the distribution of resources, project prioritization, and overall workload planning.
• Help maintain a high standard of design for industrial equipment like stackers and conveyors to ensure operational success in heavy manufacturing.
• Validate and authorize engineering layouts, specifications, calculations, and final designs.
• Ensure that all equipment designs adhere to strict requirements regarding safety, cost-efficiency, performance, and manufacturability.
• Facilitate complex technical troubleshooting and root-cause investigations to resolve engineering challenges.
• Direct key decisions regarding system performance, structural integrity, mechanisms, and material selection.
• Assist in the planning of installations and provide solutions for commissioning or field-related issues.
• Work alongside Project Management to ensure that project execution remains aligned with budget and schedule goals.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing and Operations teams to guarantee that designs are fully optimized for production.
• Support the Sales team by assisting with technical scoping and defining customer-specific requirements.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by establishing engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.
