Job summary

1st St NW Technical Staffing seeks an Engineering Manager for an established industrial equipment engineering and manufacturing company. The role involves leading a team of 6-8 engineers and guiding project priorities and resource planning, with accountability for performance and professional development.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years of mechanical design or product development, and 2+ years in engineering management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar discipline.
• 8+ years of mechanical design and/or product development experience.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience.
• Heat transfer and/or HVAC equipment experience a big plus.
• Proficiency using 3D CAD (SolidWorks a plus).
• Ability to work onsite full time.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of 6-8 engineers
• Manage department workload planning, prioritization, and resource allocation to meet deadlines and project goals
• Oversee employee personnel matters – includes hiring, performance evaluations, setting individual goals, and professional development
• Review and approve design work, engineering analyses, and technical documentation
• Provide technical guidance to resolve complex design and manufacturing challenges
• Track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, quality, and engineering productivity
