Job summary

A well-established industrial equipment engineering & manufacturing company in Minnesota is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and layout of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.

In this direct-hire role, you will specify components, perform heat load and thermodynamic analyses, review designs during fabrication, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and sales teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent.
• 8+ years of mechanical design and product development experience.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience designing sheet metal assemblies and thermal systems.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and layout of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment/systems.
• Select, schedule, size, and specify system components including air distribution, piping, pumps, valves, etc.
• Perform heat load calculations and thermodynamic analyses to determine facility requirements.
• Review components during manufacturing and recommend design modifications.
• Interface with internal/external customers and teams (engineering, manufacturing, procurement, sales).
• Compile Bill of Materials (BOMs).

• Perform heat load calculations to determine facility requirements and heat transfer and thermodynamic analysis
• Review components during the manufacturing process and recommend design modifications
• Interface with external and internal customers - includes engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and sales/marketing personnel
• Compile Bill of Materials (BOMs)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar
• 8+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design and product development
• CAD experience (Solidworks and/or AutoCAD a plus)
• Experience designing sheet metal assemblies and thermal systems
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
