Job summary

Arlo Hotels is seeking an Engineering Manager to guide the engineering team in maintaining and upgrading the hotel's mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. You will lead maintenance programs, ensure safety, and partner with construction teams to deliver reliable guest amenities.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, clear communication, and a passion for service excellence in a luxury boutique setting. A background in building systems and hospitality maintenance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred; vocational training in Electrical, HVAC or Building Systems preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of building maintenance leadership experience in hotel/resort environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programming and experience with Google Apps or similar web-based tools.
• Excellent English communication (written and verbal); other languages helpful.
• Ability to multitask and lift up to 50 lbs.; access to varied areas of the property.

Responsibilities

• Treat guests with courtesy and respect in all situations.
• Oversee Engineering Department and Life Safety aspects; lead team effectively.
• Communicate with staff through reviews, training, orientation and meetings.
• Motivate and develop team members; create preventive maintenance programs.
• Assist in selection, development and leadership of Engineering staff; partner with construction teams during turnover and FF&E installation.
• Manage all building systems, maintenance and repair to ensure operational amenities and facilities.
• Organize and oversee minor repairs across the building (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting).
• Execute preventive maintenance programs to prevent major breakdowns and maintain safe environments.
