Job summary

Palihouse Hyde Park Village in Tampa, FL seeks an Engineering Manager to keep our luxury hotel’s electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and safety systems running reliably. You’ll balance hands-on repairs with preventative maintenance and lead a team of engineers and technicians.

Candidates should have at least 2 years in an engineering leadership role, strong communication, and a flexible schedule. Certifications in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC are a plus; experience in luxury hotel settings is ideal.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in an Engineering leadership role.
• Strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections on fire suppression, sprinkler, fire extinguisher, backflow, and AC systems, meeting all local code requirements.
• Respond rapidly to service calls and emergency situations, documenting and filing reports as required.
• Guide, train, and support maintenance staff on proper repair and equipment-servicing procedures.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs of the property, buildings, and grounds, addressing issues found.
• Partner with the Hotel Manager on energy efficiency, preventative maintenance, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Keep the maintenance department organized and stocked, managing supply par levels.
• Ensure all work orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Communicate clearly with the Hotel Manager and other department heads, and ensure guest concerns are handled promptly.
