Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts seeks a skilled engineering manager to supervise preventive maintenance and repairs of the hotel's mechanical and electrical systems. You will manage life safety compliance, capital projects and day-to-day operations while leading a team of engineers.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on experience in hotel maintenance, strong knowledge across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, and a focus on safety, budget adherence and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building systems: Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Life Safety, IT.
• Hands-on experience in one or more trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry).
• Well-versed in maintenance budgeting, asset protection and safety programs.
• Skilled in multiple trades including drywall, painting, roofing and landscaping.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive maintenance and repairs of hotel mechanical/electrical systems and equipment.
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff; interview, train and assign tasks.
• Monitor life safety systems and ensure compliance with codes and brand standards.
• Maintain records supporting PM programs, capital budgets and inspections.
• Tour the property daily to identify maintenance needs across departments.
• Ensure energy efficiency and safe, organized engineering spaces.
