Job summary

Lead health and growth of an engineering pod building mortgage lending software. You will guide a 6-8 person team, balancing people management with hands-on coding, and partner with Product and technical leads to drive product outcomes.

You will own planning, delivery health, and risk management while spending 10-20% of your time coding and shipping 1-2 PRs weekly, shaping architecture and engineering practices with focus on scalable, secure mortgage tech.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering/management experience with a hands-on to management path.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Experience using AI tools in engineering workflows.
• Experience leading a pod of engineers and managing performance reviews, hiring, and career development.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and growth of an engineering pod building mortgage lending software.
• Manage and support a pod of 6-8 engineers through 1:1s, feedback, performance reviews, hiring, and career development.
• Own planning, retrospectives, delivery health, risks; spend 10-20% time coding and shipping 1-2 PRs weekly.
