Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering organization for a launch test, research and development program. You will establish the team, cadence, and execution discipline, guiding design through fabrication, installation and activation.

The ideal candidate combines deep test-systems expertise with proven leadership—able to stand up teams, drive rapid prototyping, and deliver high-stakes engineering programs on schedule while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 10+ years progressive engineering experience, with emphasis on testing, test infrastructure or R&D environments.
• 3–5 years in an engineering leadership or management role.

Responsibilities

• Stand up and activate a multi-disciplinary engineering team with defined roles, cadence and execution norms.
• Lead design, fabrication, installation, and activation activities for full-scale test sites.
• Direct rapid prototyping and development to address emergent program needs.
• Review and approve technical documentation including requirements, design specs and validation procedures.
• Provide expert guidance on testing methodologies, instrumentation, and data acquisition strategies.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, operations, and program management teams.
