Job summary

Amentum, NASA's engineering partner in Houston, seeks a Test System Safety Engineer to support test and analysis for flight hardware and facilities. You will develop hazard analyses, safety criteria, and present findings at test readiness reviews.

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to perform risk assessments, ensure compliance with safety standards, and balance test needs with mission goals. Strong communication and mentoring are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience performing hazard analyses and safety compliance per JPR 1700.1
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Strong problem-solving and mentoring skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced test environment

Responsibilities

• Perform hazard analyses and safety reviews for test hardware and facilities
• Develop Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and FMEA based on test articles and environments
• Review facility systems and establish safety requirements for tests and facilities
• Analyze concepts from requirements, mission needs, and system improvements
• Contribute to test readiness reviews and cross-disciplinary teams
