Job summary

Pinterest is seeking an Engineering Manager II, Runtime Services to lead two major platforms, including a large-scale job scheduling system and ML monitoring. You will shape strategy, drive reliability and efficiency, and mentor a diverse engineering team.

You will partner across product and platform teams to deliver measurable improvements in developer productivity and data-driven decisions, while applying AI to accelerate planning and execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years of software engineering experience, including distributed platforms and backend familiarity.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering management experience leading platform/backend teams.
• Strong foundation in platform reliability, observability, Kubernetes or cloud infra.

Responsibilities

• Establish strategy, charter and operating model for a new team overseeing two major platforms.
• Lead roadmap and evolution of platforms to improve automation, onboarding, efficiency and reliability.
• Build partnerships across teams to drive adoption and measurable improvements in productivity and decision-making.
• Improve observability, incident response, service health, documentation and engineering practices.
• Hire, coach and grow a high-performing team with inclusive culture of ownership and learning.
• Use AI to accelerate planning, analysis, and execution with validation for accuracy and security.
