Job summary

Credit Acceptance is seeking a senior engineering leader to own API platforms and lifecycle governance, driving AI-enabled capabilities across the SDLC. You will mentor cross-functional teams, establish delivery metrics, and guide architecture for scalable, observable services.

This role supports a hybrid work model across Bellevue, WA, the SF Bay Area, and Michigan hubs. You will collaborate with product and operations to ensure reliable, secure, and high-impact engineering outcomes while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience leading engineering teams.
• Proven technical leadership with mentorship and cross-functional execution.
• Experience implementing Agile and DevOps practices (CI/CD, tests, incremental releases).
• Experience in microservices design, migration planning, interservice communication.
• Experience with Cloud migrations in hybrid on-prem/cloud environments.
• Experience building reliable distributed services at scale (observability, failure recovery).
• Experience creating reusable developer platforms with API observability and AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own API platforms design and lifecycle governance across teams.
• Drive AI adoption across the software development lifecycle (ADLC).
• Mentor and coach team members; monitor delivery metrics and health.
• Lead on-call escalation and incident management; ensure reliable delivery.
• Set up teams for operational success with clear expectations and effective collaboration.
