Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a senior leader to head a cross-platform team responsible for image rendering and video playback across apps and the web. Qualifications

• 9+ years of software engineering experience with iOS or Android and web tech familiarity.
• 5+ years in engineering management leading client or platform teams.
• Deep understanding of client performance, profiling and optimization.
• Strong media rendering and video streaming know-how.
• Experience with media frameworks such as AVFoundation and ExoPlayer.
• Proven track record delivering product/system/engineering improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-platform team responsible for image rendering and video playback across Pinterest apps and web.
• Set the team’s technical direction and drive quality, performance, and reliability for media experiences.
• Collaborate with Media Transcoding, Performance, Data Science, Product and Infrastructure teams to improve media delivery.
• Drive initiatives to reduce media load times, improve playback smoothness, and maintain high visual quality.
• Guide architectural decisions balancing product needs and long-term maintainability.
• Build and coach a high-performing team through hiring and development.
• Raise engineering excellence via operational practices, testing, and release quality.
• Help Pinterest adopt new media technologies to enhance user experience globally.
