Job summary

The New Yorker Hotel, part of Highgate Hotels, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the hotel’s engineering operations and team. You will oversee daily maintenance activities, enforce safety procedures, and coordinate with ownership and contractors to sustain asset performance.

As a senior on-site leader, you will implement preventive maintenance programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive energy efficiency across hotel systems and facilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory or lead mechanic experience in a hotel or related field.
• Stationary engineer's license if required by local code.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills are required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the engineering department.
• Lead, train and supervise engineering staff in service standards.
• Maintain safety, emergency procedures and energy conservation programs.
• Ensure compliance with local codes and Highgate standards.
• Represent the Chief Engineer in absence to ownership and contractors.
