Job summary

The Newbury Boston, part of Highgate Hotels, is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee all administrative, financial and operating aspects of the hotel’s engineering division. The role ensures safe and profitable operation, adherence to standards, and leadership of engineering staff.

Responsibilities include budgeting, preventative maintenance, compliance with laws, energy conservation, and coordinating with front of house teams to deliver a high-quality guest experience.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of facilities management experience in a hotel. Luxury preferred, union experience preferred and older Building experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train all Engineering staff in customer service and SOPs.
• Create, approve and post all Engineering staff schedules according to Highgate Hotel standards.
• Create and adhere to annual budget for department.
• Develop and implement plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets.
• Ensure the hotel is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
• Implement a preventative maintenance program for all hotel equipment.
• Follow up on service recoveries related to engineering deficiencies until completion.
• Ensure overnight engineers complete their nightly tasks checklist.
