Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of facilities management experience in a hotel.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.
• Luxury hotel experience preferred; union experience and older building experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service, empowerment, SOPs and loss prevention.
• Create and post Engineering staff schedules.
• Develop and manage annual department budget.
• Plan and maintain property, equipment, grounds and assets.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws.
• Implement a preventative maintenance program for hotel equipment.
• Follow up on service recoveries related to engineering deficiencies.
• Oversee overnight engineers’ nightly tasks and checklists.
• Inspections and certifications of life-safety equipment as per standards.
• Address room maintenance requests promptly and courteously.
• Advance energy conservation initiatives and ADA compliance.
• Manage vendor contracts controlled by Engineering.
• Participate in hotel safety committees and required meetings.
