Job summary

Red Ventures seeks an experienced engineering leader to guide a small team responsible for delivering a modern TypeScript-based product stack. You will own day-to-day management, growth, and performance, while also contributing hands-on where leverage is greatest.

Expect close collaboration with Product and Design, with emphasis on delivery, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will drive sprint planning, risk-aware prioritization, and honest status updates across stakeholders, including

Qualifications

• Experience leading and managing a small engineering team or as a technical lead ready to formalize into people management.
• Hands-on developer with credibility to review and contribute to a modern TypeScript codebase.
• Strong people-leadership skills: coaching, feedback, performance management, and developing engineers.
• Solid delivery management: decomposing work, sequencing, risk, and transparent status updates.
• Clear communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders; comfortable managing up and across.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and lean operating model; focus on leverage and automation.
• Hands-on within a TypeScript-based stack spanning API services and full-stack web apps.
• Working knowledge of AWS, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD automation.
• Familiar with observability/APM and incident-response tooling; uphold quality standards in a regulated domain.
• Leverages AI tooling to increase throughput and reduce toil.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers (2–4) across levels, managing day-to-day performance, growth, and reviews.
• Own sprint-to-sprint delivery, planning, prioritization, sequencing, and communicating scope, timeline, and risks.
• Manage performance and development through 1:1s and constructive feedback.
• Contribute hands-on to the codebase where high leverage exists, while preserving growth opportunities for the team.
• Partner with Product, Design, and peer teams to align priorities and translate business goals into deliverables.
• Own team health, on-call, incident response, and maintain a high quality/compliance bar in a regulated domain.
• Foster a collaborative, learning-focused, inclusive culture.
• Champion AI-forward practices to boost throughput without sacrificing quality.
• Remove blockers and shield the team from noise to enable peak performance.
