Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Engineering Manager for Finance Engineering in the San Francisco area. You will lead a team building the platform that posts every finance event to an append-only ledger and an accounting engine, with a single authoritative source of truth for Claude-related finance flows.

You will hire and grow the team, define the reliability bar, and partner with Billing, Compute and Infra, as well as product owners and finance operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Led teams that build backend systems where correctness matters (ledger, billing, etc.).
• Built developer platforms or paved paths used by other builders.
• Experience with Go and streaming systems (Pub/Sub / Kafka).
• Experience with LLMs and agents; knowledge of double-entry accounting.
• Managed teams through audit/compliance work (SOX, audit trails).
• Experience with ERP or financial systems (Workday Financials, Oracle Financials).

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers: hire, coach and maintain high engineering quality.
• Own delivery of the finance event front door, the contracts, and the accounting ledger/engine.
• Ensure production services used by other teams are reliable and traceable.
• Provide platform support: SDKs, access controls, SOX guardrails, observability.
• Define reliability and correctness bar: SLOs, tests, daily checks from source to books.
• Collaborate with Billing, Compute and Infra, and with product/finance teams.
