Job summary

Anthropic in San Francisco is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the engineers building the finance platform that records every event and posts each one exactly once. You will hire, mentor, and set a high bar for production systems used by Claude agents and internal teams.

You’ll partner with Billing, Compute, Infra, and Finance Ops to define requirements, design data contracts, and enforce reliability and audit controls.

Qualifications

• Led teams that build and run high-volume backend systems where correctness matters.
• Built or run event-driven systems with idempotent processing, replay and backfill.
• Sound judgment on platform boundaries, data contracts and API design.
• Hired and grown engineers, and set engineering standards for platforms.
• Able to articulate trade-offs across functions and with non-engineering partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers: hire, coach and maintain high engineering quality.
• Own delivery of the finance event front door, contracts, ledger and engine.
• Ensure production services are reliable and traceable to their source.
• Provide platform support for finance apps: SDKs, access controls, SOX guardrails.
• Define and enforce reliability and correctness bar with SLOs and tests.
• Align on design, data contracts and APIs with Billing, Compute and Infra.
• Drive faster finance support for new products and compute builds.
