Job summary

Braze is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Email team, responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure that delivers billions of personalized emails monthly to our customers’ end users, including APIs, dashboards, and self-service pages.

You will recruit, coach, and develop engineers, influence architecture, and own the team’s vision and processes, with hybrid work options and a comprehensive Total Rewards package including equity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of success.
• 2+ years leading high performing teams.
• Autonomy with responsibility and ability to dive into technical details.
• Effective communication with the ability to make hard decisions and tradeoffs.
• Experience building foundational systems at scale and leading significant projects.
• Bonus: Experience with Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, JavaScript, or React.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Email team to build and maintain core infrastructure delivering billions of personalized emails monthly.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to implement features and scale the channel as volume grows.
• Recruit, coach, and develop the team’s engineers; guide architectural decisions and contribute code when needed.
• Own the team vision, goals, and processes to improve engineering practices.
