Job summary

Woodward is seeking a senior Engineering Leader to oversee high-performing teams focused on electromechanical actuation systems for aerospace applications. The role requires steering cross-functional collaboration with Technology/Platform Development, Design & Drafting, Product Engineering, and Aero Electronics to drive growth and innovative solutions.

The position emphasizes on-site leadership at the Woodward Niles facility with travel <20% to other locations and customer facilities as needed. Strong background in product development, design verification, and manufacturing methods is essential.

Qualifications

• 4 year Bachelors BS and 10+ years equivalent experience in Management and Engineering.
• U.S. ITAR/EAR compliance – must be a U.S. Person.
• On-site at Woodward Niles facility with occasional travel (<20%).

Responsibilities

• Drive Continuous Improvement: implement and support systemic and process improvements to enhance product development velocity and robust design culture.
• Go and See Leadership: engage with teams by being present where work happens and listening to team needs.
• Coach and Mentor Staff: build trust, empower team members, provide feedback to grow individuals.
• Develop and Maintain Design Standards: create, maintain and improve design standards for high-quality, compliant products.
• Budget and Resource Management: develop and manage budgets and allocate resources to meet business needs.
