Job summary
General Motors in the United States seeks an Engineering Manager for VMEC-EB Electrification New Markets to lead calibration, simulation, testing and validation of embedded software across battery and autonomous vehicle applications.
You will build a high-performing team, define validation strategies, ensure safety, quality, and program readiness, and collaborate with systems, controls, software, safety, and program teams to deliver innovative electrification solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of engineering experience in embedded control systems, calibration, validation, or safety-critical development.
- 3+ years of technical and/or people leadership experience with a proven track record.
- Experience leading automotive or autonomous systems projects with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead calibration, simulation (HIL/SIL), testing, validation, and release readiness.
- Set goals, expectations, and development plans aligned with program priorities.
- Mentor engineers while promoting collaboration and GM leadership behaviors.
- Plan resource allocation and manage budgets to support deliverables.
- Drive test automation, CI/CD, and data-driven quality improvements.
