Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking a Software Engineer for the Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls (VMEC) team in Milford, MI. You will work on electrification propulsion, optimizing hybrid engine speed/torque and energy efficiency across EV/HEV platforms.

You design, implement, and test software for VIP/SDV 2.0 architectures, contributing to GM's ZERO emissions and safer mobility goals. Collaborate in an inclusive Agile environment with CI/CD, systems, calibration, hardware and QA teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering – Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or CS.
• 2+ years of embedded controls software experience.
• Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink, C and C++.
• Experience with Jira and Agile development.
• Experience with software testing and Auto Code Generation.
• Knowledge of Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Produce or deliver software for embedded controls in electrification propulsion.
• Design, develop and implement physics and controls requirements.
• Test and demonstrate software functionality and readiness.
• Use CI/CD tools and test benches across unit to vehicle levels.
• Collaborate with systems, calibration, hardware and QA teams.
