Job summary

Amazon is seeking an AWS Software Development Manager for Elastic Load Balancing Data Plane to lead a team responsible for routing, scaling, and delivering every byte of customer traffic at internet scale.

You will own the technical vision, drive operational excellence, and grow top engineering talent while shipping next-generation capabilities. The role collaborates with senior AWS leaders, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• 5+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers in designing, building, and operating ELB data plane systems at massive scale
• Define technical vision and roadmap for data plane capabilities including routing, scaling, and deployment
• Drive operational excellence across the team, maintaining high availability for a service that underpins millions of customer workloads
• Partner with senior AWS leaders, product managers, and cross-functional teams to align on priorities and deliver business outcomes
• Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent while fostering a culture of ownership and innovation
• Make sound trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term architectural investments
• Establish goals, prioritize work across your team and partner teams, and focus on the inputs that drive the most impactful results
