Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader to run the ELB Data Plane team. You will guide design, development, and operations for ELB data plane software, ensuring scalability and reliability at global scale.

You will partner with senior AWS leaders, product managers, and cross-functional teams to align on priorities, drive architecture decisions, and deliver business outcomes while growing and mentoring engineers on the team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 5+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting systems experience.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers in designing, building, and operating ELB data plane systems at massive scale
• Define technical vision and roadmap for data plane capabilities including routing, scaling, and deployment
• Driver operational excellence across the team, maintaining high availability for a service that underpins millions of customer workloads
• Partner with senior AWS leaders, product managers, and cross-functional teams to align on priorities and deliver business outcomes
• Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent while fostering a culture of ownership and innovation
• Make sound trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term architectural investments
• Establish goals, prioritize work across your team and partner teams, and focus on the inputs that drive the most impactful results
