Alaska Airlines is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead and execute the digital services strategy. This role guides software engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions that align with business objectives, operational excellence, and customer experience.

You will develop talent, foster innovation, and partner with product and design to prioritize roadmaps and technical direction.

Qualifications

5 years of experience in Software Engineering.
2 years of leadership experience.
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in computer science or related field, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Strong software and data structure design, development and architecture experience.
Experience delivering modern software, apps, or systems at scale for large customer bases.
Demonstrated ability to manage effective collaboration with design and product for success.
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum age of 18. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of software engineers and establish priorities for design, development, delivery, and support of digital products and technology solutions.
Make decisions related to software engineering practices, technical direction, architecture, development standards, and quality assurance within the engineering function.
Execute the software engineering strategy by delivering high-quality technology solutions that support business objectives, operational excellence, reliability, and safety.
Drive effective practices that ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, reliable, and highly available technology solutions.
Partner with Product Management and other cross-functional stakeholders to provide technical input on product roadmaps, priorities, and technology solutions.
Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing team capability and capacity.
